Caroline Krider

SVP and Milwaukee Market Leader of National Corporate Banking - US Bank

Q: What unique qualities do you believe sets you apart as a leader and woman of influence?
A: I think of myself as a connector and organizer whether its clients, colleagues, or friends. I love finding out what we/they have in common and working together for business or community purposes, and/or just plain fun.

Q: Can you share a pivotal moment in your career that shaped your path?
A: When my father suggested I get into the “real business of banking,” i.e., lending and solving client problems. (I had started as a management trainee and was a bit too comfortable in my next job at USB before I took a step back, got some more training and an MBA. That gave me a springboard to become a relationship manager for many of my former Money Center clients, many with whom I still have relationships.)

Q: How do you define leadership, and how do you embody those qualities in your own life?
A: Someone I believe in and inspires me to be my best. Leaders need to have integrity, enthusiasm, intelligence, and compassion. I am more of a behind the scenes leader who tends to influence subtly by example with a positive but authentic attitude.

Q: How do you pay it forward and support the next generation of leaders?
A:
-Sponsor and mentor my younger colleagues.
-Raising my hand to help in matters where I am passionate.
-Be curious and ask a lot of questions.
-Share my learnings.
